Covid-19 Guest information
We are looking forward to a new ski season welcoming new and returning guests! It may be experienced a bit differently in times due to Covid-19, but with facilitation we will ensure that it is safe for both you as a guest and for our staff. We therefore work continuously with facilitation to protect you and us against infection.
We will do our best for you as a guest to experience this season as normal as possible. We are then dependent on that you also follow and stay up to date on the advice given.

When you visit us, we ask you to follow the three basic principles:
1 – Keep the distance from people who are not part of your daily household
2 – Practice good hand hygiene; wash your hands often, use hand sanitizer and sneeze or cough info your elbow
3 – Go home if you feel unwell
Below, you will find information, rules and recommendations that apply to the ski centre:
Ski pass
To prevent queues, we encourage you to buy your ski pass online which give you a 10% discount.
When buying a ski pass, it is mandatory to register your name and telephone number. This is something we are required to do in relation to Covid-19 tracking.
You can buy the ski pass here. As soon as you have placed the order, you will receive a confirmation by email. This confirmation contains a QR code, which you can scan (completely touch-less) in one of our 13 different pick-up boxes located at the hotels and ski pass sales in Geilo. The QR code can be read directly from your mobile screen. If you do not have the opportunity to buy ski pass in our online store, we are of course helpful in one of our ticket sales.
Rental shop
All rental equipment including skis, poles and helmets are sanitized after each use.
We strongly recommend you to pre-order your equipment online. You can order here. If you do not have the opportunity to rent equipment in our online store, we are of course helpful in our ski rental on arrival.
Ski school
Ski and snowboard lessons are arranged as normal but with some changes to accommodate after covid-19 restrictions and our guest’s safety. Get in touch at booking@geiloskiskole.no.
- Only 1 adult follows and picks up children at the meeting point
- Sick children should not participate in ski lessons
- Keep 1 meter apart
- Arrive well in advance so that organization and distance become easier to maintain
- All students must wear a helmet, mittens / gloves and ski goggles.
- We recommend that all children have been to the toilet before the ski school starts to avoid the instructor having to accompany the child.
- Change of groups / putting groups together will only take place if absolutely necessary. (It is important that you register your child for the correct group course based on our level descriptions)
It will still be possible to order ski school directly over the reception on arrival but remember that by pre-ordering online you are guaranteed a place.

If someone falls ill due to Covid-19 or another illness at the destination, the guest is responsible and must refer to their travel insurance.> What happens if Norway/Sweden/Denmark etc. is closed?
For all reservations (ski school, ski pass, ski rental) that are affected by Covid-19 restrictions and which make it impossible for the guest to travel to Norway, we guarantee a cancellation with 100% refund right up to arrival.> What happens if Norway is open but the country of the agent has closed its borders for outbound travel?
For all reservations (ski school, ski pass, ski rental) that are affected by Covid-19 restrictions and which make it impossible for the guest to travel to Norway, we guarantee a cancellation with 100% refund right up to arrival.> When national governments in a country advises against travel:
Full refund applies.> What if the guest needs to be in quarantine when they arrive to Norway/Sweden/Denmark etc.?
If they need to be in quarantine, it means the governments in Norway/Sweden/Denmark etc. advises against entry from the country the guest comes from. Full refund applies.> What if the guest needs to be in quarantine when they get home from Norway?
If they need quarantine when they get home, that means the country the guest comes from advises against travel to Norway/Sweden/Denmark etc.. Full refund applies.> What if the guest is refused entry to the country due to for instance a Covid-19 test at the border or similar?
Then the guest needs to use their own travel insurance, if it covers said example.> What if for example the ferry or other transport doesn’t go, but the borders are open?
Full refund applies only when governments advise against travel or we close the destination. In said example Geilo destination is still open, the guest needs to seek other means of transportation.> What if someone gets sick, either by Covid-19 or not, shortly before departure and decides not to travel?
Then the guest needs to use their own travel insurance, if it covers said example.> What if the guest thinks it is unsafe to travel because she is afraid of Covid. Can she cancel at any time and still get a full refund?
No, general cancellation rules apply.> Will the guest get a refund of paid ski school if SkiGeilo and Slaatta has to close down because of Covid-19?
Yes. We offer a FULL refund of the WHOLE order if we need to close down due to the Covid-19.
