Geilo is one of Norway’s biggest ski resorts. Located in the heart of South Norway, between Oslo and Bergen.
It is a family-friendly ski resort with many base stations and a large variation of skiing for all levels, with a total of 45 slopes.

With the national park village Geilo as a starting point, you have access to countless exciting activities, throughout all four seasons. Geilo is located at the half way point of The Bergen Railway which is considered one of the world’s most scenic train rides.
Enjoy the impressive landscapes on a horse back, have fun white water rafting in the Numedalslågen river, or experience the adrenaline rush flying through the air in Geilo Zip line!

Great Skiing. I really love this ski area, it’s so uncrowded, I think the entire Norway is uncrowded, the staff at Slaatta are fantastic and friendly, the cafe is wonderful and there is a poma outside the door for access, this is a good area if you have little kids as they have a ski school and hire and it seems to be protected a little more than other areas, it is very small area but you can ski the rest of the north side if you wish.

Stayed close to Slaatta Skisenter and so had a short walk to the slopes every morning. We are a family of first time skiers but loved the area, found the slopes suitably challenging, enjoyed a nice lunch in the café every lunchtime and excellent tuition from the instructors. Both my boys (one on skis and one on a snowboard) were happily doing red runs by the end of the week, after the superb tuition they received earlier in the week. Lots of thanks to Miia, the fabulous instructor who got them both there. Can't wait to go back again next year!

Great ski centre with everything you need for a day on the slopes. All of the staff that we met were very friendly. Special thanks to Joffrey at the ski school who was an excellent teacher, and to Sandra who made communication before our trip really easy!

Great place ❤️ There was still a fair bit of snow when we went to Geilo and were able to ski to our delight. It was our first time there and it was uncrowded, easy access, good skiing for all abilities and we were able to hire equipment and book a couple of lessons for our 6 year old. The staff at the ski school and at the hire chalet were all so friendly and easy going - our son’s instructor Mikkel was brilliant and gentle - we will definitely go there again if we go back to Norway.

Excellent friendly staff with a great customer focus. Rented our ski equipment here and found the staff wonderfully helpful and friendly. Very good prices - relatively speaking - and keen for the customer to have a good all round experience. Lessons available, storage for your walking boots whilst skiing and your hired equipment overnight. Very convenient location at the base of the lift system, and with a cafe / restaurant on the floor above. Compact car parks and well served by the local free shuttle bus service. Would recommend very highly.
